Solar Charkha or Solar Powered Motorized Cum Pedal Operated Spinning Machine, approved by Central Silk Board (CSTRI) is designed to produce fine yarn from silk and wool waste.
Unlike the traditional Spinning Machine, our Solar Charkha is equipped with an electric motor powered by Solar Energy and battery bank capable of running the machine 5-6 hours a day.
Some of the salient features of the Solar Charkha are:
1. Machine is designed to operate at various speeds. The speed of the motor can be controlled using the attached speed regulator.
2. Machine can be run either clock wise or anti clock-wise to spin yarn with ‘s’ or ‘z’ twist.
3. It is equipped with High efficiency electric motor which enhances productivity and eliminates the use of pedal which causes strain to user under continuous operation.
4. The machine is well equipped for night operation as it is equipped with a CFL lamp for night working.
5. The motor and the lamp are powered by Sun, using Solar Panel which is used to charge the battery bank.
6. The powerful battery bank provides 5-6 hours of continuous operation every day.
7. Made of high quality materials and equipments having zero maintenance costs.
